Helping to Make a Better World
Engineering students performing surgery on fruit fly embryos. Combustion researchers from Illinois and Italy working together to develop low-polluting biofuels. Nanoscientists and industry experts collaborating on next-generation data storage devices. These are examples of the innovative and high-stakes research and learning projects ongoing at MechSE.
Working with the dean, faculty, and admissions staff, we identified key attributes of the MechSe offering. Based on these attributes we developed positioning and core messaging to communicate the program’s relevance to prospective students, alumni, donors, peer schools, and the public. Next, we designed and managed production of two annual reports highlighting key strengths and MechSE’s emphasis on collaboration. We also produced a new website and a range of supporting collateral including brochures and exhibits in keeping with the new positioning.
Using a balance of clean, bold typography, our original illustrations and photography we visually expressed how MechSE combines mechanical engineering with theoretical and applied mechanics to attack problems of global significance.
